The AIBA Executive Committee Bureau immediately suspended the Korea Amateur Boxing Association (KBA) on Wednesday for continuous violation of the AIBA Technical and Competition Rules and the AIBA Code of Ethics.
The KBA has received one of the most severe punishments from AIBA until the AIBA Disciplinary Commission makes its final decision pertaining to the cases of a boxer's weigh-in and sending an unqualified person for the position of team doctor to the AIBA World Junior Championships Yerevan 2009. See Headlines dated 23/05/09 and 13/05/09
Until the decision of AIBA Disciplinary Commission on these cases, the KBA will not be able to send any boxers, coaches and officials to any AIBA events which means the suspension of its membership in Korea.
