The IJF Mourns the Passing Away of Ubaldo Paschini

15th November 2012.

It is with great sadness that the International Judo Federation learned of the sudden passing away of Ubaldo Paschini, aged 74.

This distinguished senior member and high ranked judoka of the Italian Judo Federation was first and foremost a big judo fan and he represented the memory of our sport. Recently, the International Federation was working with Mr. Paschini on a tribute to the famous painter, Yves Klein, with whom he practiced judo.
On October 28th, Mr. Paschini was still on the mat to celebrate the World Judo Day in the most beautiful way. Being a prominent member of the IJF Judo for Children Commission, he was in love with the educational dimension of judo. His experience and passion will be missed.
The President of the International Judo Federation, Marius L. Vizer, together with the entire judo family presents his sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Ubaldo Paschini. His example will remain alive and the beautiful ideas of mutual aid and mutual prosperity, which he was the bearer, will remain at the center of the IJF concerns.
