The 2009 Sportaccord was held in Denver, USA from March 23 to 27, 2009. Mr. Wang Xiaolin, IWUF Secretary General and Mr. Patrick Van Campenhout, IWUF Treasurer attended the meeting on behalf of the IWUF. They attended the ARISF Annual General Meeting, GAISF Martial Arts Plenary Session, IOC Executive Board with ASOIF Meeting and GAISF General Assembly. The IOC Sports Department also held a meeting with the IWUF regarding wushu. Mr. Patrick Van Campenhout was elected as director of ARISF Council at the ARISF General Assembly.
The GAISF Martial Arts Plenary Session determined that the 1st World Martial Arts Games will be held in September 2010 in Beijing, China. 13 martial sports will participate in the Games. They are members of the GAISF: Aikido, Boxing, Judo, Jujitsu, Karate, Kendo, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Sambo, Sumo, Taekwondo, wrestling and wushu. Mr. Liu Jingmin, Vice Mayor of Beijing attended the GAISF Martial Arts Plenary Session and signed the Host City Contract with GAISF.
Sportaccord is the annual international sports convention. It is jointly organized by GAISF (General Association of International Sports Federations), ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations) and AIOWF (Association of the International Olympic Winter Sports Federations). The IOC Executive Board meeting was also held during the Sportaccord.
