While it is very cold in the whole of France, the League of Guadeloupe Savate French Boxing organizes its 3rd international gala Savate in the "heat" - just over 30 degrees.
This Savate event takes place in the town of Mold in north-east of Guadeloupe, in the gym Félix Abouna, on Saturday 10th of January. Jean-Claude Félicie - promotor. The objective is to bring the highest level fighters to raise the motivation of local savate talents. This edition will offer the public a great plateau combatants selected among the best athletes in their categories. The fight-card of the evening will be composed of the best "kickers" of the island, and also athletes from Martinique, Italy, USA and the city of Mold! The fight of the evening will be:

On January 10, 2009 the Guadeloupe League of Savate hosted an international competition with representatives from various countries. The USSF had two fighters competing in assaut in the -65Kg and -75kg weight divisions.
Ben Scoggan from New Hampshire and actual USA champion, with 2008 runner up Greg Znajda from Illinois; both athletes competed in four by two minutes round fights.
