FISU Launches Candidatures for 2014 WUC

BRUSSELS - Alternating with the Universiades, every two years FISU organises World University Championships for the sports accepted by the FISU Executive Committee.

We are pleased to officially launch the candidatures for the 2014 World University Championships. The sports at the program of the FISU Championships are the following: archery, badminton, baseball, basketball 3 on 3, beach volleyball, boxing, bridge, canoe sprint, cross country, chess, cycling, equestrian, floorball, futsal, golf, field hockey, karate, long track speed skating, match racing (sailing), handball, netball, Nordic combined, orienteering, rowing, rugby seven, savate, sport shooting, softball, ski jumping, squash, triathlon, waterski, white water canoeing, weightlifting, woodball, wrestling.

We remind that, indeed the FISU Executive Committee, at its meeting in Shenzhen in May 2010, decided to add long track speed skating to its World University Championship program. The Member Associations have been informed by letter dated June 22nd, 2010.

The FISU council also decided, from 2014 onwards, to move one part of the ski competition program from the Winter Universiade to the program of the World University Championships, this in order not to unnecessarily weigh down the budget of an Organising Committee with two disciplines in Nordic skiing requesting particular infrastructures: Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. Therefore, one country can bid either for ski jumping or for Nordic combined (ski jumping and cross country skiing). However, both sports will be maintained as optional sports on the Winter Universiade program.

Two new sports are included into the WUC program as well, i.e. netball and basketball 3-on-3.

Should your association be interested to organise a Championship in 2014 in one of the sports mentioned above, the FISU World University Championships Department will be pleased to send you the guidelines to be followed in order to submit your candidature.

According to the procedure laid down in our regulations, we kindly remind you that only a Member-Association of FISU can submit a candidature dossier.

We draw your attention on the necessity to produce all letters of commitment.

Any candidature submitted with all completed documents and received at the FISU Secretariat on May 5th, 2011 at the latest will be considered by the Executive Committee at its next meeting on May 25-28th, 2011 in Lausanne, and a decision will be taken for the sport proposed

FIKBMS - italian kickboxing federation National Championship without savate

FIKB and now transformed in FIKBMS - is totaly confused federation.
They announce kickboxing national championship with only WAKO recognised disciplines, but then we find in their inscription lists also MUAY THAI - which is IFMA recognise discipline by Sportaccord since 2006.

Then again we don't hear nothing about savate national championship on the same date - 25th March 2011.
There are rules which are different in just two different cases. Italian historical and traditional confusion?

This will be again very good case for IOC, Sportaccord, ARISF, CONI - Italian Olympic Committee and of corse Jacques, good old Jacques.

Serbia - Vojvodina: Darko Knezevic vs Srdjan Nadrljanski

Savate - D. Knezevic

English boxing - D. Knezevic

Muay thai - D. Knezevic

Kickboxing - D. Knezevic
