Signing ceremony of GAISF President Hein Verbruggen and Beijing Vice Mayor Liu Jingmin

Denver Colorado, at the Sports Accord event a historic moment for “Martial Art & Combat Sports” took place. GAISF President Hein Verbruggen and Beijing Vice Mayor Liu Jingmin signed an agreement to host the first “Martial Art & Combat Sports Games” in Beijing, China in September 2010.
The competition will showcase 13 sports (80 athletes per sport), both Olympic and non- Olympic, over eight days of competition.
Sports on the program include: Aikido (IAF), Boxing (AIBA), Judo (IJF), Jiu-Jitsu (IJJF), Karate (WKF), Kendo (FIK), Kickboxing (WAKO), Muaythai (IFMA), Sambo (FIAS), Sumo (IFS), Taekwondo (WTF), Wrestling (FILA), Wushu (IWUF).
Liu Jingmin, Beijing Vice Major, mentioned martial art sport is one of the oldest Sports in the world. In Beijing alone 500000 (five hundred thousand) are practicing one kind of martial art. The venues of this event are the Olympic facilities – The National Indoor Stadium, Beijing Collage Gymnasium, University of Science & Technology, Beijing Gymnasium and the Beijing Aeronautics University Stadium.
