La FIKBMS e l'unico soggetto, riconosciuto e autorizzato dal CONI, quale organo rappresentativo della comunità sportiva nazionale, a disciplinare e gestire la Kickboxing in tutte le sue discipline (Semi Contact, Iight Contact, Kick-Iight, Full Contact, Law Kick, Kl Rules e Thai Boxe) nelle sue varianti (su ring 0 su superficie liscia non delimitata da corde), anche nelle sue forme derivate (Forme Musicali, Aero/kickboxing) e nelle specialità ad essa affini e/o complementari, la Muay Thai, la Savate, la Shoot Boxe, in Italia e nei rapporti internazionali, con le Federazioni Sportive Internazionali esistenti per le varie specialità. E' affiliata alla Federazione Internazionale World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (W A.K.O.) per la Kickboxing; è affiliata alla World Muay Thai Federation (W.M.F.) per la Muay Thai; alla Federation Internationale de Savate (F.LS.) e alla World Mixed Martial Arts Federation (W.M.M.A.F.) per la Shoot Boxe.

For Muay thai sport they don't talk about IFMA - but they use World Muay Thai Federation (W.M.F.), because they are afraid of IFMA.
For savate they use Federation Internationale de Savate (F.LS.) although they are not the member of FIS. The member of FIS is Italian savate federation FISA.
