Swiss University Sports Foundation met in Zurich

ZURICH - The Board of the Swiss University Sports Foundation (SUSF) met in Zurich in the office of SUSF-Vice President Hans Bodmer for one of the annual meetings. The object of the Foundation shall be the support and promotion of university sports in Switzerland and involvement in the entrenchment of sports generally in society in the spirit of the Swiss University Sport Federation's general objectives. The Foundation shall complement the SHSV's activities and support the SHSV, particularly with regard to finance.
In detail, this shall amount to
1. Profiling the SHSV as an important multi-sport partner with a great deal of know-how among the leading exponents of Swiss sports;
2. Recruiting former university athletes and graduates, and recruiting leaders in politics, trade and industry, and culture for the objectives of the SHSV;
3. Recruiting “ambassadors” for university sports and sports in general;
4. Creating SHSV sports idols and profiling these in the general public with a view to stimulating and motivating young talents;
5. Recruiting and cultivating sponsors, equipment suppliers, patrons and supporters of the SHSV;
6. Providing and coordinating services for sponsors, equipment suppliers, patrons and supporters with a view to safeguarding a win-win situation;
7. Planning and organising special sports promotion projects that serve to promote the reputation of university sports and sports in general;
8. Ensuring professional public relations in the spirit of the object of the SHSV and the Foundation, and taking on PR functions for the promotion of the SHSV’s internal and external communication;
9. Taking any measures that help the Foundation to attain its objectives.
At the meeting in Zurich the Board approved the annual report 2010 and the annual accounts. Under the leadership of the SUSF President Martin Hodler, the Board members, including Hans-Ulrich Doerig, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse, discussed the strategy of SUSF and some particular aspects of the sponsoring.
